Flight Dynamics and System Identification Study Project

Yüksek İrtifa

Talent Program

Within the scope of this project, the objective is to create a 6DOF fighter jet simulation model using open-source data and to extract critical flight data from this model. Prospective candidates will utilize the acquired flight data to develop linear aerodynamic models with linear state-space A, B, and C matrices around a specific trim condition.

Furthermore, non-linear, tabular, and neural network-based aerodynamic models will be constructed. Each generated model will be integrated into the simulation, and its behavior will be analyzed comparatively against the original simulation model. Throughout the project, the primary aim is for candidates to gain fundamental system identification experience in domains such as flight dynamics, data analysis, and numerical optimization.

Criteria and Expectations

  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink, with the ability to effectively utilize them within system modeling processes.
  • Knowledge of the operational principles of aircraft simulation models and flight dynamics.
  • Competence in understanding and applying fundamental system identification methodologies.
  • A strong interest in data analysis, numerical optimization, and neural network-based modeling applications.
