Measurement and Tolerance

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aircraft Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or Materials Engineering,
  • Theoretical background in machine components, material mechanics, and construction,
  • Knowledgeable in strength, static and dynamic analysis, heat transfer, and materials,
  • Understanding of the operating principles and functions of components in gas turbine engines,
  • Knowledgeable in mechanical part tolerancing, LCM/MMC material conditions, Six Sigma statistical production methodologies, tolerance stacking, IT quality classes, and the impact of manufacturing methods on tolerances,
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (preferably CATIA),
  • Technical proficiency and knowledge of technical English sufficient to understand aerospace and space standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA, MIL, SAE),
  • Knowledgeable in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T),
  • Proficient in using general engineering tools and software (e.g., MS Office),
  • Able to follow industry developments and possess an innovative mindset,
  • Capable of working in coordination with other teams related to their responsibilities,
  • Strong communication skills and aptitude for teamwork,
  • For male candidates, must not have any military obligations for at least 2 years,
  • Residing in or willing to relocate to Istanbul,

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aircraft Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or Materials Engineering,
  • Preferably at least 2 years of relevant work or project experience similar to the role,
  • Experience with gas turbine engines and/or in the aerospace sector,
  • Knowledge and experience in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and technical drawing,
  • Experience with CATIA design modules (Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Generative Sheetmetal Design, Drafting, Functional Tolerancing & Dimensioning),
  • Knowledgeable about manufacturing methods (e.g., Machining, Casting, Welding, Plastic Forming, Additive Manufacturing, Composite Manufacturing) and capable of designing according to selected methods,

We are looking for team members with the above qualifications for the position of “Engine Technical Draftsman.”

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 to technical drawings based on calculations for tolerance stacking and functional requirements of engine component designs,
  • Create exploded assembly drawings, documentation drawings, and catalog images,
  • Ensure that the tolerances applied are compatible with manufacturing and measurement capabilities through part design and technical drawings,
  • Work in coordination with design, analysis, materials, and manufacturing teams during the tolerancing phase of components,
  • Maintain systematic and up-to-date records of tolerancing procedures and revisions.
