For the R&D testing, design verification, production, and post-production processes of the UAVs and subsystems developed and produced nationally and originally by Baykar, the selection of the right materials and suppliers is of critical importance. Developing systems in a cost-effective manner throughout their product lifecycle directly contributes to their sustainability. Baykar's Procurement Unit manages the company's operations in this area. The unit's activities include supporting the selection of materials to be used in the systems, managing demand processes, and conducting procurement operations.

The unit creates a pool of suppliers that can provide the best prices and conditions and conducts its operations with these suppliers. The Procurement Engineer takes appropriate steps to secure the supply chain according to the criticality of the goods and services. In these processes; Engineering teams must work with internal stakeholders such as finance-accounting, logistics, and distribution. Therefore, the Procurement Engineer must possess the skills to manage relationships within the company.

The unit also participates in the quality improvement process by setting target quality performance levels and then monitoring performance against these targets, and contributes to the development of suppliers.

Pozisyonun Amacı

A Procurement Engineer primarily manages the procurement of needed products or services, determining which supplier/subcontractor to choose, under what conditions, and in terms of meeting specific requirements. Additionally, they are involved in supplier/subcontractor relationship management and process improvement activities within this procurement process.

• Procuring materials and equipment in line with military and aerospace standards, taking into consideration their condition, cost, and lead times in accordance with production plans
• Identifying suitable suppliers and subcontractors, evaluating their production and quality capabilities, and monitoring subcontractor approval processes
• Conducting cost analyses for materials to be procured in coordination with Production and R&D teams and assessing their manufacturability and procurement feasibility
• Organizing the logistics operations of procured materials and monitoring and managing customs permits and procedures
• Monitoring payments and deliveries, periodically updating and reporting ongoing operations through the ERP system
• Managing supplier relationships, monitoring procurement process- or material-related nonconformities, and planning and following up on the necessary corrective and preventive actions to eliminate them

Genel Nitelikler

• Graduated from an engineering program at a university with a national university entrance ranking within the top 40,000
• Have a career objective in areas such as procurement and supply chain operations
• Possess knowledge of material or equipment procurement processes for mass production at supplier/manufacturer companies in industries such as aerospace and automotive, covering at least one of the following procurement groups:
  • Machining, Composite Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly, Laser Cutting, Welding, Surface Treatment, and Secondary Processes
  • Electronic Circuit Components, Wiring Components, Ready-Made Units, and RF Equipment
  • Information Technology Components, Calibration Equipment, Production and Testing Devices, Machinery, Equipment and Devices, Maintenance Materials, and Production Hand and Measuring Tools
  • Metal or Chemical Raw Materials, Laboratory Supplies, Fastening and Sealing Components, Motion System Components, Engines, and Peripheral Components
• Possess knowledge of manufacturing techniques and the ability to review and evaluate technical data packages (technical drawings, interface control documents, and technical specifications)
• Demonstrate strong follow-up skills and a high sense of responsibility
• Possess strong interpersonal, communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills
• Have advanced English language proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
• Have strong analytical and presentation skills and be proficient in office and project management software
• Possess strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Have previous work or internship experience in similar procurement and supply management processes within defense industry companies
• Have experience in cost analysis processes
• Possess knowledge of import and customs procedures
• Be proficient in data analysis and data visualization software
• Possess knowledge of international material shipment organization processes
• Have experience using e-procurement and online tender management software
• Have proficiency in a second foreign language in addition to English, including speaking, reading, and writing skills
• Possess knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) and understand the quality and traceability requirements mandated by these systems
