Virtual Interactive Mission Assistant Project

Yüksek İrtifa

Talent Program

Within the scope of this project, the objective is to develop an innovative application that enables the execution of aircraft operation planning processes in a three-dimensional virtual reality (VR) environment. Aiming to overcome the spatial perception limitations presented by traditional two-dimensional desktop interfaces, this system will allow users to experience terrain topography at true scales.

Prospective candidates will develop an infrastructure where mission planning operations—such as creating routes on a map, positioning waypoints in 3D space, defining altitude profiles, determining takeoff and landing runways based on terrain conditions, and previewing the planned mission from the aircraft's perspective—can be executed utilizing natural hand gestures. The final deliverable of the project is expected to form the foundation of a system that can be deployed operationally in the field.

Criteria and Expectations

  • Eagerness to gain hands-on experience with virtual reality development platforms (such as Unity or Unreal Engine).
  • A strong interest in working with OpenXR standards and VR hardware.
  • Enthusiasm for acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge in 3D terrain modeling, and the integration of real-world data into virtual environments.
  • A strong aptitude for developing competencies in human-machine interaction, spatial interface design, and simulation engineering.
  • Willingness to actively participate in end-to-end software development processes, from the conceptual phase through to a working prototype, thereby cultivating an interdisciplinary technical skill set.
