Engine Aerodynamics Design Engineer
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduates of universities with degrees in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering,
- Knowledgeable in the design, analysis, and optimization of gas turbine engine components (compressors, turbines, combustion chambers, etc.),
- Strong theoretical background in Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, and Computational Fluid Dynamics,
- Proficient in using at least one CFD program such as Ansys Fluent, Ansys CFX, or OpenFOAM,
- Proficient in using at least one CAD program such as CATIA or SpaceClaim,
- Preferably knowledgeable about gas turbine engine performance calculations (e.g., GasTurb),
- Preferably experienced with 1D flow modeling and design tools,
- Preferably skilled in any programming language (MATLAB, Python),
- Advanced technical English proficiency,
- Open to new developments and continuously inclined towards self-improvement,
- Strong communication skills, capable of working individually and as part of a team,
- Able to develop new approaches to problem-solving and think analytically,
- Capable of creating clear and understandable reports in accordance with company procedures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Participate in the conceptual and detailed aerodynamic design of gas turbine engines,
- Create the main flow path for assigned components, and perform airfoil design and analysis,
- Carry out aerodynamic and thermodynamic design, analysis, and optimization work for gas turbine engine components,
- Develop performance curves and maps for components and evaluate performance characteristics,
- Contribute to the development of aerodynamic design and analysis methodologies,
- Monitor the testing activities of assigned components, validate test results, and perform development work,
- Report technical work in accordance with company procedures,
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
