Our department develops advanced engineering solutions for engine systems and conducts design, analysis, materials, manufacturing, testing, and verification activities in an integrated manner. Within the scope of our department, material, manufacturing, and performance-focused development of engine components and subsystems is carried out, along with the implementation of new technologies and technical improvement activities throughout the product lifecycle.
Pozisyonun Amacı
The position aims to determine and develop materials used in gas turbine engine components; to establish material standards and technical requirements for prototype and production processes; to coordinate material selection processes with relevant engineering teams; to conduct research on new and alternative materials; to improve manufacturing and process conditions; and to analyze material-related problems in order to enhance product performance and manufacturability.

- Researching the required material standards for prototype production and preparing related procedures and specifications (heat treatment, coating, painting, surface preparation, etc.),
- Performing material selection and conducting necessary development activities,
- Conducting next-generation material research and carrying out alternative material development studies,
- Managing material selection processes in collaboration with design and analysis teams,
- Preparing specifications for raw material procurement and performing COC evaluations,
- Determining the conditions for part manufacturing, heat treatment, coating, and intermediate processes; optimizing these conditions through appropriate experimental designs,
- Reporting laboratory analyses and evaluations,
- Collaborating with manufacturing engineers and technicians to assess the manufacturability of parts and guide designers,
- Investigating the root causes of material failures encountered by utilizing metallography, characterization, and testing methods.
Genel Nitelikler
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Knowledge of metallic and non-metallic alloys.
- Knowledge of ceramic materials and their production methods.
- Experience working with at least two of the following materials: steel, aluminum, magnesium, ceramics, and composites.
- Experience with materials operating at low and high temperatures.
- Knowledge of titanium alloys, nickel-, iron-, and cobalt-based superalloys.
- Experience in sample preparation and microstructures of metallic alloys.
- Ability to perform microstructural analysis.
- Competence in determining material selection criteria and executing material selection processes.
- Knowledge of coatings and applications of metallic materials.
- Knowledge of corrosion.
- Knowledge of heat treatment processes of metallic materials.
- Knowledge of polycrystalline, directionally solidified, and single-crystal investment casting processes.
- Knowledge of hot forging, cold forging, and hot isostatic pressing processes.
- Knowledge of metal and ceramic additive manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of mechanical surface treatments such as shot peening and sandblasting, chemical surface treatments, and surface cleaning processes.
- Knowledge of chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, thermal spraying, electroplating, and painting processes.
- Knowledge of NDT processes such as liquid penetrant inspection, ultrasonic inspection, CT, and magnetic particle inspection.
- Experience in mechanical testing such as tensile, fatigue, creep, and impact testing.
- Experience in fatigue and fracture mechanics.
- Experience in fatigue and fatigue life calculations.
- Knowledge of the physical metallurgy of metals.
- Proficiency in the chemical and mechanical properties of materials, and knowledge of electrochemistry.
- Knowledge of standards such as ASTM, SAE, AMS, and MIL.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods.
- Strong teamwork skills and active involvement in technical projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work in coordination with other teams related to areas of responsibility.
- No military service obligation for at least 2 years.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Proficiency in technical English.

- Experience with CATIA design software.
- Previous involvement in material development activities within gas turbine engine processes will be considered an asset.
