General Qualifications

  • Graduated from university departments such as Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related fields,
  • Having knowledge about metal and non-metal alloys,
  • Having knowledge about ceramic materials and manufacturing methods,
  • Having worked with at least two of the following materials: steel, aluminum, magnesium, ceramics, and composites,
  • Experienced in materials operating at low and high temperatures,
  • Knowledgeable about titanium alloys, nickel, iron, and cobalt superalloys,
  • Experienced in sample preparation and the microstructures of metal alloys,
  • Able to conduct microstructural analysis,
  • Proficient in determining materials selection criteria and making material selections,
  • Having knowledge about coatings and applications of metallic materials,
  • Having knowledge about corrosion,
  • Having knowledge about heat treatment of metallic materials,
  • Having knowledge about polycrystalline, directional solidification, and single crystal precision casting processes,
  • Having knowledge about hot forging, cold forging, and hot isostatic pressing processes,
  • Having knowledge about metal and ceramic additive manufacturing processes,
  • Having knowledge about mechanical surface treatment processes such as shot peening, sandblasting, etc., chemical surface treatments, and surface cleaning processes,
  • Having knowledge about chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, thermal spraying, electroplating, and coating processes,
  • Having knowledge about NDT processes such as liquid penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing, CT, magnetic particle inspection, etc.
  • Experienced in mechanical tests including tensile, fatigue, creep, impact tests.
  • Has worked on fatigue and fracture mechanics,
  • Has worked on fatigue and fatigue life calculations,
  • Having knowledge about physical metallurgy,
  • Proficient in the chemical and mechanical properties of materials and Having knowledge about electrochemistry,
  • Having knowledge about standards such as ASTM, SAE, AMS, MIL, etc.
  • Having knowledge about manufacturing methods,
  • Prone to teamwork and experienced in active participation in a technical project, 
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs,
  • Able to work in coordination with other teams related to their areas of responsibility,
  • Having no military service obligations for at least 2 years,
  • Able to read technical drawings,
  • Preferably having experience with CATIA design software,
  • Preferably having experience in materials development activities regarding gas turbine engine processes,
  • Proficiency in technical English.

Job Description:

Considering the project dynamics and the requirements for active task allocation, the following assignments will be made:

  • Researching the necessary material standards for prototype production, as well as investigating and preparing procedures and specifications (such as heat treatment, coating, painting, surface preparation, etc.)
  • Making material selections and carrying out the necessary development activities, 
  • Conducting research on new-generation materials and carrying out alternative materials development activities,
  • Managing material selection processes in collaboration with design and analysis teams,
  • Preparing specifications for raw material procurement and conducting COC evaluations,
  • Determining the conditions for part production, heat treatment, coating, and intermediate processes; optimizing these conditions through appropriate experimental designs,
  • Reporting laboratory analyses and evaluations,
  • Evaluating the manufacturability of parts in collaboration with production engineers and technicians, and providing guidance to designers,
  • Investigating the root cause of encountered material damages using metallography, characterization, and testing.

 

INVESTMENT CASTING MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

General Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical and Material Engineering, Material Science and Engineering or related degree,
  • Ability to work in shifts,
  • Ability to read technical drawings,
  • Preferably two years of experience in investment casting process,
  • Having comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in investment casting metallurgy,
  • Having comprehensive knowledge in solidification theory and phase diagrams,
  • Competent in addressing casting defects and implementing solutions,
  • Ability to use CATIA software at a fundamental level,
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software,
  • Advanced level of written and spoken English,
  • Advanced level of technical English,
  • Having knowledge of ASTM, SAE, AMS, MIL and related specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, monitoring and supervising the investment casting process under vacuum conditions.
  • Evaluation and improvement of casting designs to enhance manufacturability and product quality.
  • Development, tracking and validation of production planning and investment casting technical documentation.
  • Creation/development of work orders for pre-casting mold heating, casting, and post-casting mold cooling processes.
  • Checking compliance with work procedures and orders in the production area.
  • Stacking and improving casting process records.
  • Investigation of the underlying causes of machinery and equipment related errors, analysis of the errors, detection of the source using six sigma, lean manufacturing, and problem-solving techniques, and implementation of corrective actions aimed at their resolution.
  • Investigation of the underlying causes of machinery and equipment related errors, detecting the source of the error through problem solving techniques and implementation of corrective actions aimed at their resolution.
  • Investigation of the underlying causes of casting defects, implementation of corrective actions aimed at their resolution in coordination with related personnel and R&D department. 
  • Inspection of foundry equipment, planning and controlling of the equipment maintenance.
  • Ensuring the continuity and improvement of the investment casting process through continuous monitoring and data analysis.
  • Continuous review and updating of the casting process.
  • Training and guidance of the foundry personnel.
  • Implementation of quality control procedures and adherence to investment casting quality standards.
  • Providing guidance on foundry safety and environmental compliance.
  • Adapting investment casting processes to meet the requirements of design engineers.
  • Researching the state-of-the-art investment casting processes and following the current studies and specifications in this field.
