For the UAVs and subsystems that are nationally and originally developed and manufactured by Baykar, selecting the right materials and suppliers is of critical importance across R&D testing, design verification, production, and post-production processes. Ensuring cost-effective development throughout the product lifecycle directly contributes to the sustainability of these systems. The Procurement Department at Baykar is responsible for executing operations within this scope. Its activities include supporting the identification of materials to be used in systems, managing demand processes, and carrying out procurement operations.

The department establishes a supplier pool capable of delivering the best price and terms and conducts its operations through these suppliers. The Procurement Engineer takes the necessary actions to secure the supply chain based on the criticality of goods and services. Throughout these processes, close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as engineering teams, finance & accounting, logistics, and distribution is essential. Therefore, a Procurement Engineer must possess strong internal stakeholder management skills.

The department also contributes to continuous quality improvement by setting target quality performance levels and monitoring performance against these targets, while also supporting the development of suppliers.

Pozisyonun Amacı

A Procurement Engineer is primarily responsible for managing the sourcing of required goods and services—determining from which supplier/subcontractor they will be procured, under what terms, and in compliance with specified requirements. In addition, the role involves managing supplier/subcontractor relationships throughout the procurement process and actively contributing to process improvement initiatives.

• Procuring materials and equipment in line with production plans, ensuring compliance with military and aerospace standards, while considering condition, cost, and lead times
• Identifying suitable suppliers and subcontractors; evaluating their production and quality capabilities; and managing subcontractor qualification and approval processes
• Conducting cost analysis for materials to be procured in coordination with Production and R&D teams, and assessing manufacturability and supply feasibility
• Organizing logistics operations for procured materials, including managing and tracking customs clearance processes and permits
• Monitoring payments and deliveries; regularly updating and reporting procurement activities through ERP systems
• Managing supplier relationships; tracking non-conformities related to procurement processes or materials; and planning and following up on corrective and preventive actions

Genel Nitelikler

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from universities ranked within the top 50,000 in national entrance exam rankings
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement processes for serial production materials or equipment within supplier/manufacturer companies in sectors such as aerospace or automotive, with expertise in at least one of the following categories:
  • Machining, Composite Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly, Laser Cutting, Welding, Surface Treatment, and Secondary Operations
  • Electronic Components, Cabling Systems, Off-the-shelf Units, RF Equipment
  • IT Components, OHS Equipment, Calibration, Facility Assets and Maintenance Materials, Hospitality & Accommodation Organization, Customs and Shipment Processes
  • Metal or Chemical Raw Materials, Fasteners, Motion System Components, Production and Testing Equipment, Engines and Auxiliary Components
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and the ability to review and evaluate technical data packages (technical drawings, interface control documents, technical specifications)
• Hands-on experience in cost analysis processes
• Knowledge of import and customs procedures
• Strong task ownership and follow-up skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills
• Advanced proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Strong analytical and presentation skills; proficiency in office tools and project management software
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
