Our Department

Baykar Mapping department, we develop a world-class imaging system capable of scanning over 4,000 square kilometers per day. Through this system, we operate across multiple industries. Our imaging technology, which is a world-first, enables the mapping of very large areas within just a few hours.

Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the design, development, and sustainability of world-class map-based web and mobile applications by developing high-performance, scalable, and reliable solutions using modern software technologies and cloud infrastructures. The role also aims to ensure the effective processing of various data sources used in mapping technologies, the development of user-oriented interfaces, and the execution of software development processes in line with software engineering best practices.

What Awaits You?

• Contributing to the development and sustainability of map-based web and mobile applications, 
• Developing user-oriented, high-performance interfaces using React and React Native technologies, 
• Participating in service development and integration processes with existing systems using Django or similar back-end technologies, 
• Developing and integrating RESTful APIs and preferably GraphQL-based services, 
• Managing PostgreSQL databases and effectively utilizing them throughout application development processes, 
• Contributing to the development, deployment, and management of applications using Docker and container technologies, 
• Developing applications running on AWS infrastructure and effectively utilizing cloud services, 
• Supporting software testing processes by executing unit and integration tests, 
• Collaborating with the team through Git-based version control processes, 
• Effectively utilizing raster and vector data formats used in mapping solutions within applications, 
• Contributing to improvements aimed at enhancing software performance, security, and maintainability.

General Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, 
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with React and React Native technologies, 
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, 
• Experience developing applications using Django or a similar back-end framework, 
• Proficiency in using Redux or similar state management tools, 
• Experience with Docker and container technologies, 
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database management systems, 
• Experience working with ViteJS, Webpack, or similar build tools, 
• Experience in developing and integrating RESTful APIs (knowledge of GraphQL is preferred), 
• Proficiency in using Git or similar version control systems, 
• Experience developing unit and integration tests using Jest, Cypress, or similar testing frameworks, 
• Familiarity with raster and vector data formats such as GeoTIFF and Shapefile, 
• Knowledge of server administration and experience working with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.), 
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern software development principles, 
• Good command of English, 
• Availability to work in our Istanbul (Hadımköy) location.

Additional Qualifications Considered a Plus:

• Graduation from a challenging and intensive university program
• Experience with map-based libraries and frameworks such as MapLibre, Leaflet, or Mapbox, 
• Knowledge of security, scalability, and performance optimization on AWS infrastructure, 
• Experience developing applications based on microservice architecture and containerized systems, 
• Experience with CI/CD processes and automation tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD, 
• Experience optimizing the performance of high-traffic applications, 
• Experience with big data processing and map visualization technologies, 
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, 
• Proven engineering deliverables through academic studies, open-source contributions, or previous professional experience.
