2026 Fall Internship | Structural Manufacturing R&D / Structural Testing and Validation Engineer

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in the structural testing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including test design, test system and fixture design, data acquisition, data analysis, and comprehensive/functional reporting. The ideal candidate will support ongoing projects and contribute to the development of innovative testing methods and processes.

Structural Testing and Validation Team

In this department, where structural testing of unmanned aerial vehicles is conducted, candidates can gain experience in test setups, test rig designs, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical actuators, control systems, sensors, and data acquisition systems.

The Test Design team virtually designs methods to simulate the aircraft’s design conditions, determines the boundary conditions of the test setup, identifies the sensors and their locations for measurements, and prepares test procedures. Based on these procedures, the team examines, analyzes, and reports the test data.

The Actuator, Sensor, Data Acquisition, and Control team selects actuators suitable for the test conditions, determines the sensors and data acquisition systems to be used, and develops control algorithms for the actuators.

The Test Fixture Design team creates 3D designs in accordance with the boundary conditions provided by the Test Design team. The team performs strength analyses of the designs, prepares technical drawings, follows manufacturing processes, and creates assembly instructions.
