2026 Fall Internship | Light Platforms Control, Estimation and Dynamic Modeling

As the Light Platforms Unit, we take part in the development of all software, hardware, design, and analysis R&D processes of light and agile UAV platforms being developed within BAYKAR Technology, capable of performing reconnaissance, attack, surveillance, and similar missions.

Our unit consists of 13 teams:

  • Aerodynamics and Flight Performance
  • Avionics Software and Interface
  • Dynamic Modeling
  • Electronic System Development
  • Embedded Software
  • Estimation
  • Control and Guidance Systems
  • Autopilot and Intelligent System Software
  • Project Management
  • Design Engineering
  • Artificial Intelligence and Payload
  • Structural Analysis
  • Software Testing and Automation

General qualifications we expect from candidates as the "Control and Guidance Systems" team:

  • Being a senior student in Control, Mechatronics, Electrical-Electronics, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering departments at universities
  • Knowledgeable in control theory and system dynamics
  • Knowledgeable about MATLAB and Simulink tools
  • Knowledgeable about the flight mechanics of fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing systems
  • Being research-oriented and responsible
  • Being open to innovation, eager to learn, and having an inquisitive mindset

Our main responsibilities in projects:

  • Designing flight control systems and developing algorithms
  • Developing guidance and path-following algorithms
  • Implementing, testing, and documenting the software of the developed algorithms
  • Designing safety-critical algorithms for reliable flight
  • Conducting flight analyses and evaluation activities

As the Light Platforms Control and Guidance Systems team, we are looking for teammates to join us in the design and software development processes of control and guidance algorithms.

General qualifications we expect from candidates as the "Estimation" team:

  • Being a student in Control, Aerospace, Electronics and Communications, Mechatronics, Electrical-Electronics, or similar engineering departments at universities
  • Working on or having an interest in topics such as inertial/global navigation systems, sensors used in aviation navigation, signal processing, statistics, and probability
  • Knowledgeable about MATLAB / Simulink applications
  • Having a research-oriented personality and eagerness to learn
  • Preferably having been part of university project teams

Our main responsibilities in projects:

  • Developing sensor fusion algorithms
  • Reducing dependency on external sensors on aerial vehicles
  • Testing the developed algorithms in simulation environments
  • Conducting flight estimation analyses

As the Light Platforms Estimation team, we are looking for teammates who will support and conduct research in the field of navigation systems for aerial vehicles.

General qualifications we expect from candidates as the "Dynamic Modeling" team:

  • Knowledgeable in flight dynamics, aerial vehicle control, and system modeling
  • Having a strong mathematics and physics background, with an engineering perspective
  • Being open to research and learning, motivated to transfer the systems on aerial vehicles into simulation environments and develop them
  • Having experience in scientific computing languages and/or willing to develop themselves in mathematical modeling software

Our main responsibilities in projects:

  • Developing 6-degrees-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulation models of aerial vehicles
  • Modeling subsystems such as aerodynamics, engine, landing gear, and control surfaces
  • Building software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop systems
  • Developing the simulation environment

As the Light Platforms Dynamic Modeling team, we create the mathematical models of aerial vehicles prior to their physical flight, perform simulation flights, and prepare virtual environments for the development of flight control algorithms. We are looking for teammates to work with us in these areas.
