This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in test design, test rig design, sensors, data collection, control, data processing, and reporting in the context of unmanned aerial vehicle structural engineering. The ideal candidate will support ongoing projects and contribute to the development of innovative materials and processes.
Structural Testing and Validation Team
In this section, where structural tests of unmanned aerial vehicles are conducted, experience can be gained in test setups, test rig designs, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical actuators, control, sensors, and data acquisition systems. The Test Design team virtually designs methods to simulate the design conditions of the aircraft, determines the test rig boundary conditions and the sensors and locations where measurements will be taken, and prepares the test procedure. It reviews, analyzes, and reports on the data from the tests performed according to the prepared procedure. The Actuator Sensor Data Acquisition and Control team selects the actuator appropriate for the test conditions. It determines the sensors and data collection system to be used for measurement. It creates the control algorithm for the actuators. The Test Setup Design team creates 3D designs in accordance with the boundary conditions received from the test design team. It performs strength analysis on the designs it creates. It creates technical drawings. It monitors the production processes. It prepares assembly instructions.
Additionally, vibration and acoustic tests are conducted within the team. Opportunities to gain experience in areas such as shock tests, modal tests, real-time data collection, and data processing and reporting are available.
