Spring 2026 Semester | Weapon Systems - Design, Testing, Materials, and Project Management

The Weapon Systems Department is responsible for all engineering and R&D activities (including design, testing, project management, and material selection) related to the integration of munitions into aerial platforms produced by BAYKAR Technology (such as TB2, TB3, Akıncı, and Kızılelma). This includes all processes from the integration of munitions into the air vehicles to the final deployment of the munition on target.

Areas of Activity:

Weapon Systems Mechanical Design Team

  • Development of mechanical solutions for weapon systems and design processes.
  • Researching relevant literature and standards to determine requirements.
  • Creating concept designs and kinematics for systems and sub-systems.
  • Performing necessary calculations and conducting dimensioning studies.
  • Developing pneumatic and hydraulic solutions based on force and speed requirements of the system, when needed.

Weapon Systems Structural Design Team

  • Conducting literature research and reporting on pylon and pod systems.
  • Conducting layout studies for munitions and pods.
  • Performing analytical calculations for pylon and pod systems.
  • Designing Weapon Systems pylons and their sub-systems.
  • Designing Weapon Systems pods and their sub-systems.
  • Enhancing designs from conceptual stage to final product considering cost, weight, and functionality.
  • Following up on integration activities during the R&D phase.

Weapon Systems Hydraulic Design Team

  • Defining system requirements.
  • Creating system architecture.
  • Designing sub-components of the system.
  • Participating in functional testing activities.

Weapon Systems Project Management Team

  • Creating project plans and schedules.
  • Preparing man-hour estimations.
  • Updating task lists.
  • Ensuring coordination between different departments.
  • Following up on part production and integration.
  • Preparing progress reports for the unit's projects and presenting them to the group leader.

Weapon Systems Test and Integration Team

  • Researching relevant standards and requirements to define all environmental test conditions for weapon systems and sub-systems.
  • Designing test systems based on environmental standards and system requirements to enable test execution.
  • Procuring and integrating necessary test equipment and machine elements into the system.
  • Improving the efficiency of existing test systems through new designs, equipment procurement, and integration.
  • Defining requirements and selecting appropriate materials for parts designed for weapon systems and sub-systems.

Students currently enrolled in, or graduates of, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering programs are eligible to apply for internships in the Weapon Systems Department at our company.
