The correct selection of materials and suppliers is of critical importance for the R&D testing, design verification, production, and post-production processes of unmanned aerial vehicles and their subsystems, which are developed and produced nationally and uniquely by Baykar. The cost-effective development of these systems throughout their product life cycles directly contributes to their sustainability. The Baykar Purchasing and Procurement Management (PPM) unit carries out the company's operations in this scope. Within the scope of the unit's activities, efforts are made to support determining the materials to be used in the systems, manage request processes, and conduct purchasing operations.
The department creates a pool of suppliers that can provide the best prices and terms and conducts its operations with these suppliers. The Purchasing and Procurement Management specialist takes appropriate steps to secure the supply chain according to the criticality of goods and services. In the processes, they must work with internal stakeholders such as engineering teams, finance-accounting, logistics, and distribution. Hence, the Purchasing and Procurement Management specialist should possess the ability to manage relationships within the company.
The department also engages in the quality improvement process by setting target quality performance levels and then monitoring performance according to these targets, contributing to the development of suppliers.
