Motor Technologies - Ground Systems Design and Development:
The Ground Systems Design and Development Team designs ground support equipment to ensure unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight control via ground control stations during flight, as well as for maintenance and repair activities before and after flight.
The team plays an active role in the entire process, from sketch designs of each product to the manufacturing stage.
Ground Control Stations are control centers located on land or at sea, which are resistant to environmental factors and enable remote control of the aircraft.
The design team works with a human-centered design discipline.
Key design requirements include ergonomics, durability, aesthetics, and long-lasting usability.
Ground support equipment consists of products that are necessary for the personnel to prepare and maintain the aircraft for flight. These products typically involve flight preparation, facilitating the aircraft's ground mobility, and ammunition loading. The primary design requirements for these products are precision, high work safety, and user-friendliness. Examples of ground support equipment include:
Fuel filling stations, heating and cooling units, ammunition loading vehicles, ground support stations, engine assembly tools, and aircraft jacks.
Students currently enrolled in university programs such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive, Mechatronics, Aerospace or Space Engineering, and Industrial Design, who are interested in interning with our Ground Systems Design Team, can apply to this unit.
