Flight Mechanics and Conceptual Design Application Development Project

Yüksek İrtifa

Talent Program

Within the scope of this project, a comprehensive application will be developed capable of executing aircraft sizing, aerodynamic configuration selection, and the optimization of design alternatives based on specified design requirements and reference mission profiles. Prospective candidates involved in this process will program critical steps into the software, such as the creation of fundamental constraint diagrams, the integration of various engine configurations (turbofan, turboprop, piston, electric, etc.) into these diagrams, and the execution of basic aerodynamic estimations utilizing empirical formulas.

Additionally, the integration of a fundamental mission profile performance calculator, the calculation of wing area from the constraint diagram, and the automated generation of the designated aircraft's geometry through written programs are among the primary objectives of the project. Through this initiative, the fragmentation of conceptual design processes across disparate tools will be prevented, enabling geometry generation and the acceleration of design processes within a single, unified program.

Criteria and Expectations

  • Familiarity with fundamental aviation terminology and a high level of motivation regarding aircraft conceptual design.
  • Strong proficiency in coding and software development to effectively execute and manage application development processes.
  • Openness to acquiring practical and theoretical competence in aerodynamic principles and performance calculation methodologies.
  • To have an interest in the field of flight mechanics and a desire to plan a career in this area.
